October 13, 2019 - 10:15am

Christian Gauthier of the Kadampa Meditation Center in New York will present a service about the Buddhist perspective of inner peace and how to cultivate it within our hearts using simple techniques of breathing meditation. Anyone can benefit from engaging in meditation for 5 or 10 minutes. He will be speaking at the Berlin Township Community Center in Beach Lake,Pa at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 25th. All are invited to the one hour service sponsored by the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Directions can be found at www.uduuf.org.

The purpose of meditation is to cultivate positive states of mind, conducive to peace and well-being, and overcome negative habits of mind. Happiness is a state of mind, therefore the real source of happiness lies in the mind, not in external situations. When our mind is peaceful we are free from worries and mental discomfort, and we experience true happiness.

Christian Gauthier is the Education Program Coordinator and meditation teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center New York. He has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since 2009. His practical and inspiring teachings make Buddhism accessible to everyone.
