UDUUF Founders and Bud Rue

October 21, 2018 - 10:15am

Glenn Pontier will speak about the founders and the early days of the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship on Sunday, October 21st at 10:15 a.m. at the Berlin Township Community Center in Beach Lake, PA . He is a founding member and the son of Raymond Pontier, the founder and Minister when the Fellowship met at Innisfree, the home of Bud and Ann Rue. It was there that the first Bud Rue Walk for Social Justice in 1993 culminated with the death of Bud Rue. The Fellowship is proud to continue to honor his vision with the Bud Rue Campaign, which raises money for four local organizations that work toward social justice in our community, Victims Intervention Program (VIP), Rape Intervention Services and Education (RISE), Growing Older Together and Wayne County Habitat for Humanity. All are invited to the one hour service which will be followed by a social time with refreshments. Directions can be found at www.uduuf.org.

This Sunday is the official Bud Rue Campaign Day for 2018. We hope to raise $4,000 which will be used to benefit VIP, RISE, Habitat for Humanity Wayne County and Growing Older Together. Sharon Lisenbee and some generous volunteers have raised about $700 already at various public places - Wonderful work!! You can make your contribution at a Sunday service or by mailing to UDUUF, PO Box 164, Beach Lake, PA 18405 and putting "Bud Rue" in the notation line of your check.
